A New Year’s party is a time to celebrate the start of a new beginning. This year let the children enjoy the celebrations by planning a party for their friends. Planning such a party is very easy and can be lots of fun. The first thing that you have to do is make a list of all the guests that they want to invite form their school, cousins and neighbors.
Once the list is all figured out of the children that they want to invite, ask your children to make invitation cards to send out to everyone. Keep the card simple like perhaps in the shape of a big clock that is about to strike midnight. Add some colorful glitter and streamers on it. Mention the time the party starts and also the time they are to be picked up the next morning. Also remember to list the things the children should bring to the party like pajamas, toothbrush, their favorite pillow etc.
Decorating for a children’s New Year’s Eve party is very simple and doesn’t need to be overdone, just keep it simple. You can decorate the place with balloons, confetti and streamers; they are also easy to put up if the children want to do it themselves. Pick up some nice party hats and whistles as-well. If you want you can also gather up lots of balloons into a net above on the ceiling and pull the net at midnight.

When the children begin to arrive you should serve them some snacks in buffet style, so that they can choose and eat what they like. Plan and organize some games that can be played as a group; ask your children what they like and what their friends would like to play. Otherwise some fun games like dumb-charades or even Pictionary are popular amongst the youngsters and children can enjoy playing them till the countdown begins to midnight. As the clock strikes midnight release the balloons and watch them have fun!
Serve some nice hot breakfast in the morning, again in a buffet style. When the children are enjoying their breakfast, discuss with them some new year’s resolutions that they would like to make. Then hand over a card to each kid and ask them to write down their resolution to take home. Ask them to put it up in their room as a reminder. When the children are about to leave give them goodie bags that has a toy, some stationary and candy.
