Diwali - The festival of lights is celebrated among Indians with great enthusiasm and is one of the biggest festivals of Indian history. Usually, it falls in the month of October or November. The festival lasts for 5 days and includes Govardhan Puja, Dhanteras and Bhai Dooj etc. All these festivals are celebrated with zeal and energy and people feel thrilled and excited.

Dhanteras: On the day of Dhanteras, it is a tradition to buy gold, utensils and silver. Indians believe that this day is the auspicious day to but any such thing. People who cannot afford to buy gold or silver can buy utensils according to their budget. Sweets are offered to the Yamraj on this day and a diya is lighten up in the courtyard.

Chhoti Diwali: This day defines the victory of good over evil. Hindus take bath early in the morning after massaging their body with fragrant oils. Rangolis are made and the lamps are lit.

Colourful DiyasDiwali: It is the most important day and is celebrated with great thrill and excitement by every age group. Goddess Lakshmi is worshipped at night and prayers are sung by everyone to please her. Candles, diyas and lamps are lighten up and beautiful decorations are made. People buy new clothes, crockery, furniture and any home décor items. Amazing variety of clothes like Baby Clothes, clothes for women and men are available to shop. Bhai Dooj: This is the last day of Diwali celebrations. The day is celebrated by brothers bhai doojand sisters and is a very special feeling for both of them. They show their love and affection to each other by exchanging gifts. The sister applies tilak on her brother’s forehead and performs aarti and wishes long life for him. In return, the brother gives gifts and presents or chocolates etc. The day builds a stronger bond between both of them.
