Decorations
You might get lucky enough to get your hands on movie based decorations at the local store. But if that’s not the case, you could create some amazing stuff yourself! Make catchy banners that say things like “Grand Premier” or “Opening Night” that will give the feel of a real movie premier! You can also decorate your house with cutouts of film reels and film clap boards. Also get some popcorn bags that you can use for decoration and serving as well!
Dress Code
You can play with that now. Either you could ask the kids to feel comfy in their Pajamas and get cozy in blankets on couch. Or you could even create a dress code suggesting them to replicate a movie star or a character they have played. It will add a bit of spice to the party and get all the kids excited. Though you may have to hear about there dress plans for a week but the happiness you’ll spread will be unbeatable!
Seating
Since its an at-home party, you may be short on space. So try and reduce the kids to a number that can easily be accommodated in your TV room. If you don’t want to leave anyone out, shift your party outdoors. Surround the TV with your chairs and couch and bean bags such that nobody blocks anyone’s vision. Get in extra pillows and blankets to make them feel comfortable at your home. If you have a lot of space at your disposal, you can even add a small stool to the chairs for snacks!

Movie Selection
Since its a kids party, let them decide what movie they want to watch. Though you may want to keep a check on their preferences and final selection to ensure the movies are age appropriate. You may help them short list a few but leave the final decision on voting. This will reduce the risk of fighting between them. Once the movie is finalized you may even get small (or large) posters of the movie for decoration purpose.
Snack Time
Think of movie watching and popcorn is the first thing that will strike you and is a must have on the menu. With that being said, pop some or rather a lot of popcorn for them to munch on. Put them in small popcorn bags to get the real feel of a movie hall. You may even create small platters or combos that include a beverage, popcorn, small burgers, fries and nachos. Kids love them all and they will love you even more after this!
