Buy one size bigger:
The smartest option is to always buy a size bigger. Re-purpose the clothing:
Cut the ankle length pants into calf length half pants or go even shorter and turn them into shorts (as long as the waist fits). Use the lovely dress as a top with leggings or inside a dungaree. Cut the short t-shirts to make DIY scarves. Just don’t throw away the clothes, experiment and re-purpose, and reuse them.

Apart from the worry of clothes getting too short too early; having them dirty is another issue with kids clothes. For the infants, you need quite a number of changes throughout the day due to wetting the bottoms or milk spills, for others playing in dirt does the work. Washing clothes too often too kill the life of the fabric. However, you can make them last a little longer by using mild and soft detergent.
Remove the stains immediately:

It is one of the best tricks to use the leggings and bottoms for a long long time. Most of the times, cheap kids clothes come with long leg measurements but sleek and narrow elastic waistbands. So be careful and buy kids bottoms with soft elastic bands which are wide and not too tight. The elasticity of the band will help in keeping the garments be used for a longer time frame.
Store everything properly:
Those baby dresses for birthday parties that you’ve stocked up for your little girl need a little extra tender loving care to keep their shine, embellishments and threads intact. Store them in the closet wrapped delicately in plastic packs. Hang the jackets and coats properly in canvas bags. Show some sunlight to the winter clothes once after removing them from the trunk that last opened in the previous fall.
