Summer Activities For Kids

Summer is so much fun for little kids because they get to enjoy playing about all day long because the schools are out. Kids are full of energy that needs to be released in one form or the other. When at school they are able to channel that energy through learning activities but at home they become more relaxed and hence they want to play games all the time. For this it is best for you to get your child enrolled in a summer camp that have great classes, games, sports, field trips and other activities. The start of these camps usually coincides with the beginning of the summer holidays.

But since some schools commence classes later than others, camps end a few weeks before school. So when the kids are at home it is important that you give them some free time to play around in-between studies.

BabyCouture brings to you some fun games and activities that your kids can enjoy with their friends:

• Play the Role – This is my favorite fun activity which I used to love as a child. This calls children to use their imagination by dressing-up as a fun character. Get your baby to wear fun baby clothes as well for the play. Get the kids to make a short little story about anything they want and then later enact that story through a play. It is a great way to boost the confidence of little children who can show their play in a formal or informal setting. If it is a formal sort of thing, invite the parents of the children to your place and have fun watching the children at their creative best!
• Scavenger Hunt – This is a great game where children can have fun looking for stuff that you have hidden here and there. To make it slightly more interested you can leave clues here and there for the children to find.
• Friends of Nature – We all know that going green is very important and everyone must do their part to save planet earth. In this you can visit a garden nursery and pick up plants for your garden. This activity will make your child responsible and teach him/her the importance of plants. To make it more interesting you can get plants to fit with a theme that you want for your garden.
• Car Derby – Children love art and craft, to be honest even adults love it! So one of the things that the children can do is to design and make their own little car. Give the children boxes (preferably of the same size), colors and glue. Under your supervision, have them design the car of their dreams. If you want to make it more interesting give the children large cardboard boxes that they can color on and shape using their imagination and later have a little race!
• Board Games – Sometimes the weather can be a little unpredictable. So for rainy days play some of the classic board games with the children. To make it a little more interesting give prizes to the winners. The prizes can be anything you want like small toys, “certificates”, snacks etc.
