Tips for Travelling with Toddlers

Tips for Travelling with Toddlers

If you are planning a trip with your family and have a baby it is very easy as compared to travelling with toddlers or older children. It is very difficult to keep toddlers and little kids still during long drives and flights. So it is very important that you pack things that can entertain them and keep them occupied so that they are not bored. Here are a few helpful tips for travelling with toddlers:

  • Take a few games with you that they can easily play in the car; and if you are travelling by flight, make sure that you can carry the game with you on the plane, just call the airline in advance to clarify these details. Being children, they will get tired and bored very easily, so take with you a variety of games because they won’t play one game all the time. While picking games for the trip, do not leave their darling stuffed toy at home. These toys are great to make them feel comfortable when travelling.
  • Make sure that you pack some of their favorite little snacks. When you are travelling with them, you can afford to let them munch in on these snacks even if you think they are not too healthy. Just don’t pack sweet snacks; the last thing you would want is to have your child all charged up with energy in the car or on a flight. The poor little souls will just have to bottle up the energy! If possible try to pack in a thermos your toddler’s most favorite meal.
  • This goes without saying, always pack extra clothes for the children. You never know when you might have to change their clothes. Pack wet wipes and dry wipes to clean up after they have eaten something or in case they vomit. The thumb rule for wipes is “you can never have enough” so pack generously.
  • Before you begin to pack for the holidays we recommend that you make a checklist. Keep the checklist handy and tick off all the things as you pack them. This will ensure that you haven’t missed anything and are ready for your holiday.
  • When you travel with children you should always pack extra clothes. Pack clothes according to your destination; if it’s a cold place, pack plenty of coats, sweaters and Warm Winter Clothes and if it’s a warm and sunny place, pack light cotton clothes that are airy and breezy.
  • Remember to take with you some medications for a cold or a fever because these things can never be predicted.
