Home Remedies for Moisturizing your Baby's Dry Skin

Is your little baby’s skin prone to dryness? Are you worried how to keep his sensitive skin well-moisturized? It is therefore advised to go for a patch test first, in order to check whether the ingredients being used suit the child’s skin or not.

Remedy 1- Cocunut Oil/Almond Oil Massage

Remedy 2- Avocado/Aloe Vera

Similarly, take an aloe vera leaf, slice it and take some gel and apply it on the dried patches. You don’t necessarily have to wash it off.

Remedy 3- Breast Milk

Remedy 4- Bananas

You may use bananas to help restore the moisture of your baby’s skin.  For this, take a ripe banana and mash it well. Apply this on the dry areas and keep for a while. Wash it to instantly feel the smoothness.

Remedy 5- Rose Water & Glycerin

rose waterGlycerin is a wonderful moisturizer, but how to use it? Just mix equal portions of rose water and glycerin together, and apply on the baby’s skin right after the bath. Always shake the mixture once before the use.

Remedy 6- Oats

Make a smooth powder by grinding half a cup of oats. To this add some olive oil. Keep the mixture for 15-20 minutes and then add this to the child’s bath. This will help in hydrating the skin and reduce skin dryness effectively.

yogurtYou need to add a little (pure) almond oil into a bowl of yogurt and apply it over the dry skin patches. Keep it for about 10-15 minutes and then wash off with lukewarm water.

Besides these, chocolate, mango, turmeric, mustard oil are other home items that can be used to fight dryness of baby skin. These are risk-free and safe, once you’ve done a patch test.But still, one must always be careful that before trying any of the above-mentioned home remedies, see that the skin is not infected at all. In the case of any deep crack patches or a yellowish discharge seek a doctor’s help rather than home treating your baby’s dry skin.
