Don’t: Sneak Out When They Are Not Looking

Sneak Out When They Are Not Looking

This is the worst thing you can do to avoid a crying child. But remember, just because you have left and can’t see him crying doesn't mean he is fine. He is crying because he is scared and finding out that you have suddenly disappeared reinforces this fear, you don’t want that!

Smile And Encourage Them To Have Fun

They will take cues from your face, so make sure that you are smiling. They should see from your face that they will be alright and there is nothing to worry about. Smile and tell them that they will be having loads of fun at the school, they are less likely to cry at the school then!

Don’t: Show Indifference

Show Indifference

We know that you don’t want to leave him crying behind but waiting for too long will exceed your office timings. You don’t want that happening so you are frustrated and scold them for their emotional outburst. This will only add to a sense of disappointment in them in addition to fear and anxiety!

Do: Reassure Them

Reassure Them

They are sad and crying, they need reassurance from your side. Tell them that they will have fun there and you will be coming to pick them up as soon as the school gets over. Tell them that you will take them out for an ice cream after their classes, it will divert their attention from being alone to looking forward to fun times!

We know you care for them, you just have to show it at the times when your kids need this reassurance! Make these small efforts and prevent your kids from starting a crying marathon at the drop off!
